I have read the commitment of this woman and I could not stop praising God, when most of the world and the youngsters of it are engrossed with achievement and worldly possessions, how in the world a person will leave all for to seek after the lost and forgotten ones? Who will leave the comfort and security of the American life to seek after the sufferings? Well you have been given grace to see this marvel of glory of the Jesus Christ, the reward that is waiting for them who serve Him, and the riches of the reward that who serve Him, please go ahead, there may be perils waiting and needs may not meet but you are going to serve the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and our rewards is yet to reveal, May Him surround you with His angels, provide you with all that is necessary, may Him anoint you with His word and may these children and adults that you are going touch become special tools in His hands, The Lord is with you, go ahead, the glory is ahead of us, the provisions are with us and you will be received back as a victorious warrior as he returns by the host of angels who did not get this blessing. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

This blog looks great! I can't wait until we're both working in Uganda as part of ECM's team that is bringing the love and hope of Jesus to the people of Gulu.

This role & movie of Anthony Hopkins reminds me of the ministry of the porter. All that is spoken of the porter in the great "Good Shepherd Parable" in John 10:3 are only five words: (TO HIM THE PORTER OPENETH) But oh, the depths of responsibility to his job, that even the Lord, Jesus Christ waited for him to bid entrance into the sheepfold!
Even if the wolf attacks the sheepfold, by climbing up another way, his eyes are focused on the door & the door only. The sheep may shriek, the shepherd may attack the wolf with their rod, but this little known worker/shepherd of the sheep still remains steadfast to his post & duty. As mundane as it seems, his duty is to maintain the integrity of the spiritual door of the Lord’s Sheepfold. Yet the bible thread of the porter ministry begin with warring angels who kept the gates of the sides of the north; to Adam who kept the garden of Eden to his son Able, who was the first shepherd/keeper of sheep; to us who must porter/keep our own souls/hearts with fear & trembling; to the husband that must keep the his family & finally the modern shepherds of the modern-day church of the Living God who has the awesome responsibility to keep His Church!
Pray for your Pastor & church laborers! "for the good of the church" (GW) Eph 1:22

Hi Julissa! Sorry to say that I just noticed your post on our church's website. Anyway, it was nice hearing from you. I am teaching a series of messages regarding "finding the will of God." You might find them helpful. We'd love to see you at a service, if you are local!

I remember my first day of school. During my toddler and pre-school years, my folks and all family had always called me "Junnie". So.. I'm sitting in the kindergarten class of Ms. Weinenberg and attendance is being taken. I hear "Lawrence Hendricks"... and I continue to wait for my name... then she calls the name again... and again, getting louder. I'm looking around saying to myself "wow... this lawrence guy must be deaf or something why doesn;t he just answer?" I look at the teacher and she asks me why i'm not answering to my name. I reply" Well, my name sn't Lawrence: it's Junnie." I quickly learned that I had been decived by my own family for the first 5-years of my life. After school my mother asked ,incredulously,"What's wrong with you that you don't know your own name???" LOL...

I remember my first day of school. I didn't get any sleep the night before. My Mom had put curlers in the hair, the kind with the poky things to make them hold. They held alright but they kept poking me all night long. My curls only lasted until about 10:00 am anyway.

How do we know when it's the right thing from God? Jesus said seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you. I noticed when I just want to serve God, help people, and do the right thing, God gives us these things when we aren't even paying attention. Other than that, I am still trying to understand the "Pray and wait for God's direction" thing.

That sounds a lot like me. I have trouble giving total control to God and I have trouble with patience so I do things on my own and they end up backfiring on me.
