I was watching the PGA Golf Championship, and the unthinkable happened. Tiger Woods lost. And it was an ugly loss. He started the day two strokes ahead, and he still lost. This has never happened before. Whenever Tiger has started the last day of a major championship with a lead, he has never given it up. And he has won 14 major championships. To make it worse, he lost to a virtual unknown golfer. Unless you follow golf pretty closely, I doubt that you have ever heard of Y.E. Yang! I honestly think that Woods looked at his two shot lead, checked his nearest competitor, and thought he had the championship won before he finished the match.
As Christians, we always need to be on our guard. As soon as we think that we have an area of our Christian walk totally under control, that’s when the trouble starts. We never have things totally under control. We always need to ask the Lord for help and strength in all areas. Whatever you struggle with specifically (lust, pride, anger, greed, or whatever)—pray. And when you think that you can overcome certain areas with little or no struggle, PRAY. Sometimes Satan attacks our weak areas, and we fall. Sometimes he lauches a sneak attack against a stronger area of our life, and we fall. NEVER put your guard down!
