Man in the Mirror

“Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.” (James 1:23-24)

One of the first things you did this morning was to look into a mirror.  And once you saw your reflection, you made whatever improvements or adjustments that you could.  We comb our hair (those who have hair!).  Ladies put on their makeup, etc.  It would be unthinkable to see your reflection in the mirror, but not to do anything about it.

Yesterday I talked about the importance of three things in our spiritual life:
1.  Consistently church attendance
2.  Daily prayer
3.  Daily reading of the Bible (and also the importance of memorizing scripture)

If you listened to yesterday’s message but have no plans to implement anything you heard, it is if you looked into the mirror of God’s Word and walked away without making any adjustments.  If you do plan on implementing what you heard, start TODAY by spending time reading the Bible and having a time of prayer.  As you do that consistently, it will change your life.
